Benefit Fake Up Concealer

Benefit's Fake Up Concealer in light

Finally, my first post in a long time but I'm glad to be back and blogging again. I managed to get my hands on Benefit's Fake Up Concealer a few weeks ago and have been amazed by it, so much so that this was  going to be my first review back.

Benefit are known for their gorgeous and quirky packaging and this does not disappoint, this sleek silver tube is embossed with a pretty pink and black logo on the front. My only gripe is that if you do get a little concealer on the packaging it is visible and gets dirty quite quickly. Other than that yet another gorgeous looking product from Benefit.

What makes this concealer different to others is the fact that this is a two-in-one product, with moisturising properties. The clear outer layer packs a highly moisturising balm which helps to smooth the skin whilst the apple seed extract helps to brighten the skin. The concealer part is held in the middle of the tube, which is simply used to help hide blemishes and redness in the skin.

When I first swatched this in Debenhams I was worried that this would be a little too oily for my skin, however once I started to blend I noticed that this does disappear. Considering it does appear oily this will stay on your skin for a good 8-10 hours which is fabulous for a concealer. I have heard a lot of people say that the coverage is too light for what they'd want in a concealer but I find this does provide a good coverage, it helps hide any blemishes and especially darker areas under the eyes. So for me personally, whilst it's on the sheerer side it still provides ample amount of coverage for what I am after.

This blends really easily into the skin and honestly takes no time at all which is a big bonus as I can sometimes spend ages trying to blend concealers if they don't sink in just right. I love how this feels when I apply, purely because of it's gel-like consistency, it applies softly and once on feels very light.

The range consists of only three colours which I thought was a little strange, I was expecting more of a colour range but Benefit do insist that these three colours will be a match for everyone. I went for the lightest (as always) and find the colour is an exact match for my skin tone, it's not too yellow nor too orange, just perfect!

Benefit's Fake Up Concealer retails for £18.50 from any Benefit counter.

I'm back!

Hi loves,

So recently you may have noticed I have been inactive from the blog and blogging world but my last major assignments have now been handed in which means my three years of university is now coming to an end.

However it does mean more time for blogging, which I cannot wait to get back into the blogging spirit!

New Revlon Lip Butters

left to right: Sorbet, Wild Watermelon, Pink Lemonade

Since Revlon released their lip butters last year I have been obsessed and will admit I own quite a few. So when they released four brand new shades a little while ago I could not help myself and made the most of Boots 3 for 2 offer. The new shades released are: Juicy Papaya, Pink Lemonade, Sorbet and Wild Watermelon which I will say are perfect for the summer.

Just like the other shades these lip butters are very moisturising and creamy, who needs Vaseline? Once applied these are also very glossy which bypasses the need for gloss. They are perfect for both day and night looks, especially the new shades. I can already see Sorbet becoming a firm favourite within my collection and have been sporting it daily for the week!

The packaging is just gorgeous and looks very high end and Chanel like, bonus. I like as well that each bullet is coloured according to the colour of the lipstick so you can gather an idea of the shade. I also think it makes it a lot easier when going through your makeup bag / case to find a lippie.

Sorbet is a gorgeous bright pink, which actually once applied doesn't look too bright but can be built so it's fab for a day to night transition colour. I wasn't sure how this would suit me, but since going darker I am loving those brighter shades more! I can see this being one of my go to colours for the summer, not only is the colour pay off great but so is the quality. My only main gripe with this is because it is so bright you have to check your lips so you aren't left with the pink line around your lips showing where the colour has gone from the main body.

Pink Lemonade I was in two minds about when buying, I wasn't sure if it would be too pale but once again it's one of those shades that will suit most. It's a gorgeous light pale pink which makes it perfect for everyday use, however because it is so pale the pigmentation isn't brilliant. If you apply it lightly it gives the tinted balm effect, so it does need to be layered for a true colour payoff. Saying that I do love this shade and will be great for days out.

Wild Watermelon is a gorgeous red that is not completely red if that makes sense. It's a very summery shade, with pink undertones which makes it a warmer shade of red. I think if you want to get into red lipsticks this is the one to go for, it gives you an idea of lighter reds and how they suit your skin tone and whether you could go further into the red family. This applies really easily and is yet again another transition shade which would be perfect to go from day to night.

Altogether these shades are fab, they are not only very wearable shades for the summer but they are also great quality lipsticks for the price. The pigmentation is fab with these products (except some of the lighter shades but that would be expected) and their creamy consistency means they are a dream to apply and are just so soft once on the lips.

The wear of these really does depend on the shade, the lighter shades I would say around 3 hours whereas the darker shades I have found are anywhere between 4-5 as long as you do blend the darkened line around your lips to replace the colour wear in the middle. These are one of the best lip products for the summer!

Have you tried any of the new shades out? What are your favourites?
